Distributed Gradient Tracking for Optimization and Learning over Networks

Abstract: As data gets larger and more decentralized, distributed algorithms over networks provide ample opportunities in many important applications. In this talk, we shall exploit the distributed gradient tracking technique (DGT) to solve large-scale optimization and learning problems, and propose a fully asynchronous DGT which is easy to implement in directed networks with distributed datasets and robust to bounded transmission delays, while maintaining a linear convergence rate if local functions are strongly-convex with Lipschitz-continuous gradients. Moreover, we adopt the DGT to design distributed algorithms with explicit convergence rates for the distributed resource allocation and distributed training over networks, respectively. Experiments are included to show their advantages against the-state-of-the-art algorithms.


Bio: Keyou You received the B.S. degree in Statistical Science from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, in 2007 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2012. After briefly working as a Research Fellow at NTU, he joined Tsinghua University in Beijing, China where he is now an Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Automation. He held visiting positions at Politecnico di Torino, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The University of Melbourne and etc.

His current research interests include networked control systems, distributed algorithms and learning, and their applications. Dr. You received the Guan Zhaozhi award at the 29th Chinese Control Conference in 2010, and the ACA (Asian Control Association) Temasek Young Educator Award in 2019. He received the National Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars in 2017.

集群系统协同控制理论及在无人机集群中的应用

摘要:集群智能是人工智能的重要研究领域,也是单体智能未来发展的必然趋势。无人机是智能化无人系统中的典型对象,在军事及民用领域都有着广阔的应用空间。以无人机集群为代表的智能集群系统具有大规模性、开放性、高动态性及强鲁棒性等典型特征。这些特征使得针对智能集群系统协同控制的相关算法需要能够分布式实现。本报告主要针对智能集群系统协同控制中的分布式时变编队控制技术、编队跟踪控制技术及编队-合围技术进行分别介绍,并结合在多无人机系统上的系列飞行试验对所提出技术的有效性进行演示验证,最后以所参加的空军无人争锋智能无人机集群系统挑战赛密集编队穿越竞速的比赛为例进行应用展示,并对未来的可能发展方向进行了概述。


董希旺,国家优青,国家青托,清华大学博士,新加坡南洋理工大学博士后,北京航空航天大学自动化科学与电气工程学院教授、博士生导师和院长助理。主要研究方向为集群智能、协同制导控制、协同决策规划及飞行器集群,理论与实践并重,研发了基于无人机和无人车的集群智能协同验证平台并开展了系列试验验证,支撑完成2018年空军无人争锋比赛无人机密集编队穿越竞速任务,在52支参赛队伍中获得唯一优胜奖。以第一和通信作者在IEEE TACTCST等汇刊以及Automatica等国际知名期刊发表SCI论文60余篇(6篇论文长期入选ESI高被引论文),以第一作者身份在Springer出版英文专著1部。担任中国指挥与控制学会集群智能与协同控制专委会总干事、中国自动化学会青年工作委员会副秘书长、IEEE旗下Q1SCI期刊AE和航空兵器的编委等职务。获得吴文俊人工智能优秀青年奖、中国指挥与控制学会创新奖一等奖、IEEE CSS Beijing Chapter 青年作者奖及Springer优秀博士论文等奖励和荣誉。

多智能体分布式优化算法设计与包含控制

摘要:分布式优化与控制是通过多个具有计算、通信等能力的个体协作求取复杂优化问题的解,广泛应用于传感网络、电力系统和机器学习等大规模网络化系统中, 如无线传感器网络中的定位、智能电网的经济调度及机器学习中的损失函数最小化等,其研究具有重要的研究意义和应用价值。本报告关注多智能系统分布式优化与包含控制。先简单介绍多智能体系统分布式控制与优化问题基本知识,包括多智能体系统基本知识和分布式优化理论,分析当前研究中衰减步长和定步长分布式算法的利弊;再此基础上,给出两种不同步长的离散时间分布式优化算法,克服现有方法不足,并通过比较显示算法的有效性。最后,讨论与步长相关的包含控制问题。


王东,大连理工大学,控制科学与工程学院,教授,博士生导师,智能控制研究所副所长。主要从事分布式优化,多智能体系统控制和多机器人协作方面研究工作。在Automatica等国内外核心期刊、会议发表和录用论文60余篇,主持国家自然科学基金面上项目2项,青年基金项目1项,参与多项国家级项目。获得第七届吴文俊人工智能科学技术自然科学二等奖,第36届中国控制会议关肇直提名奖,全国优秀博士学位论文提名奖等。担任SCI检索期刊《Information Sciences》和《Neurocomputing》副编,第36届中国控制会议秘书长和第25届中国过程控制会议秘书长,以及多个国际会议程序委员会委员。

On Disagreement Behaviors of Signed Networks

Abstract: Signed networks represent a class of multi-agent networks that involve antagonistic interactions among agents, where there generally emerge disagreement behaviors of agents. In this talk, we discuss several classes of disagreement behaviors of signed networks with respect to different network topology conditions, including both convergence behaviors and fluctuation behaviors. We specifically discuss how the antagonistic interactions, the unequal status of agents, and the switching of topologies influence the dynamic behaviors of signed networks and how they result in the disagreement behaviors among agents. We also provide some examples and simulations to illustrate the disagreement behaviors observed for agents and some remarks on the possible studies of signed networks.


孟德元教授于2010年在北京航空航天大学获得工学博士学位,现为北京航空航天大学自动化科学与电气工程学院教授。主要研究方向为迭代学习控制、网络系统控制、数据驱动控制。在IEEE TACAutomatica等国际知名刊物发表SCI论文50余篇。担任中国自动化学会数据驱动控制、学习与优化专业委员会, 委员、副秘书长;中国人工智能学会智能空天系统专业委员会, 委员、副秘书长等职务。主持包括国家自然科学基金面上项目及北京市自然科学基金面上项目等国家级、省部级项目6项。2015年获教育部技术发明奖一等奖(4/6),2016年入选北京航空航天大学青年拔尖人才支持计划2019年获得国家自然科学基金优秀青年科学基金。

多智能体分布式平均跟踪与协同优化

摘要:随着智能传感器、无人机、无人车的普及,多智能体系统在军用、民用领域所扮演的角色越来越重要,它与其他学科的交叉、渗透引发了新的问题与方法并促进了相关学科的发展。本报告首先介绍非平稳信号的的分布式平均跟踪问题,然后介绍基于复合拉普拉斯函数的分布式控制,最后介绍分布式最优一致性以及符号投影梯度算法。


陈飞,男,东北大学教授、博导,IEEE高级会员。曾先后在美国加州大学河滨分校、美国犹他州立大学、香港城市大学、厦门大学担任研究员、高级副研究员、副教授等职务。研究方向包括:分布式平均跟踪、分布式优化、智能电网的经济调度、复杂网络建模与分析等。

Springer出版专著1部(第一作者),在IEEE/IFAC汇刊等顶级期刊上发表论文20余篇,含TACAutomatica两大旗舰期刊12篇、长文3篇,授权(公开)专利15项,主持3项国家自然科学基金项目以及1项河北省自然科学基金杰出青年项目。获河北省自然科学一等奖、河北省三三三人才、福建省高校新世纪优秀人才、福建省优秀硕士论文指导教师、IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems杰出审稿人等荣誉。

担(曾)任国际SCI期刊IEEE ACCESSPLOS ONE副主编、东北大学秦皇岛分校学术委员会委员,秦皇岛市智能交通仿真与控制系统重点实验室副主任、福建省自动化学会副理事长,并受邀作为首届中日韩网络、多智能体系统与控制研讨会特邀报告人以及中国非线性系统与控制研讨会青年大会报告人。

耦合多层网络上的演化动力学

摘要:本报告主要基于多层耦合复杂网络框架,首先讨论两种不同的博弈模型在双层耦合网络中的演化博弈行为;其次,关注基于概率模型的信息扩散对SIR类型的疾病传播的影响,使用双层网络模型对信息作用下的疾病传播模型进行建模,刻画了信息和疾病各自的传播过程,以及信息和疾病传播之间的耦合关系,并采用微观马氏链的方法(MMC)对得到传播模型的阈值表达式,表明信息传播对疾病的爆发阈值会产生一定的影响。项目的研究有助于进一步理解多层耦合网络框架下的演化博弈与疾病传播行为。


夏承遗,博士,教授,博士生导师,2014年入选天津市“131创新人才培养工程第一层次,2017年入选天津市高校中青年骨干教师,2019年入选天津市特聘教授。主要从事复杂系统与复杂网络的建模与分析、离散事件系统、疾病传播、演化博弈论等领域的研究工作;是中国工业与应用数学学会复杂系统与复杂网络专委会委员,中国指挥与控制学会网络科学与工程专委会委员、中国系统工程学会服务系统分会理事、中国人工智能学会空天智能专委会委员。

Intelligent Learning Control for Nonlinear Systems

Abstract: The objective of this talk is to present some state-of-the-arts as well as recent results within the context of intelligent learning problem in nonlinear control systems. In particular, finite-time synchronization for switched neural networks as well as region stabilization issue of switched neural networks with multiple modes and multiple equilibria will be addressed. Besides, application of neural network scheme is presented to perform the motion control of redundant robot manipulators with constraints. Then, the talk is concluded by some concluding remarks.



Hamid Reza Karimi is currently Professor of Applied Mechanics with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy. From 2009-2016, he has been Full Professor of Mechatronics-Control Systems at University of Agder, Norway. His current research interests include control systems and mechatronics with applications to automotive control systems, vibration systems and wind energy.
